CORRIDOR NOTES
Distances and drive times are planning estimates. Exact access, timing and delivery details are confirmed for each address before the move.
At roughly 1,298 miles, Colorado Springs to Sacramento is one of the most direct interstate moves in the West - almost entirely I-25 and I-80. Our crew heads north from El Paso County on I-25 through Denver to Cheyenne, then turns west onto I-80 for the long run across Wyoming, over the Great Salt Lake basin, and through the Nevada desert past Winnemucca and Reno. From Reno the truck climbs Donner Summit into California and descends through the Sierra foothills and Roseville straight into the Sacramento metro. Plan on 19-20 hours of driving across a realistic two-to-four-day window, with Sierra weather the main variable.
Murdock’s Moving runs this corridor on our own USDOT and CPUC authority as an owner-operated carrier - not a broker reselling your job. The same truck and the same crew that pack and load in Colorado Springs stay with your shipment the entire way and unload it in Sacramento, so there's no warehouse transfer, no load-board handoff, and no mystery driver. That single, accountable chain of custody is exactly what you want on a haul this long.

DESTINATION BRIEF
Sacramento is California's state capital and the anchor of a fast-growing region that has absorbed years of Bay Area overflow. It offers real urban living - historic Midtown with its grid of Victorians, tree-lined streets, and a nationally regarded restaurant and cocktail scene - alongside the government, healthcare, and tech jobs that keep the economy steady. The confluence of the Sacramento and American Rivers gives the city miles of bike trails, kayaking, and Delta access, and Lake Tahoe, Napa, and San Francisco are all inside a two-hour drive.
Newcomers from Colorado Springs tend to sort themselves across very different neighborhoods depending on lifestyle: walkable, urban Midtown and East Sacramento; the leafy, established Land Park and Curtis Park; family-oriented suburbs like Folsom, Roseville, and Elk Grove; or the master-planned communities of Natomas and West Roseville. Compared with the Bay Area, Sacramento housing is markedly more attainable, which is a big part of why the region keeps growing - though buyers coming from Colorado Springs will find the capital a step up in price rather than down.
A move into Sacramento can look like a downtown condo, a 1920s bungalow on a narrow Midtown street, or a new-build in a suburban subdivision - so access and parking vary. Our crews handle the whole range, and because we carry the load ourselves, we schedule the unload around your building's rules and street access instead of a warehouse's clock.
