CORRIDOR NOTES
Distances and drive times are planning estimates. Exact access, timing and delivery details are confirmed for each address before the move.
From Kansas City to Yuba City is about 1,780 miles, and Murdock’s Moving runs it as a single, direct carrier move - the same crew and the same truck that load you in Missouri are the ones who deliver into Sutter County. We head west out of Kansas City on I-70 across Kansas to Denver, climb the Rockies over Vail Pass, then join I-80 west through the Utah salt flats past Salt Lake City and on across Nevada toward Reno.
Once we crest the Sierra Nevada at Donner Summit and descend into California, we leave the interstate near the valley floor and take Highway 99 north through Sacramento's northern suburbs into Yuba City. Because Murdock’s is an owner-operated carrier working on our own USDOT and CPUC Cal-T authority - not a broker farming the job out - your household goods stay on one trailer the whole way, with no warehouse transfer or line-haul handoff. Plan on a three-to-five-day transit window depending on mountain weather over the Rockies and Sierra and your scheduled delivery day.

DESTINATION BRIEF
Yuba City sits at the heart of the Yuba-Sutter area, a working agricultural region on the Feather River about 40 miles north of Sacramento. This is orchard-and-farm country - peaches, prunes, walnuts and rice define the landscape - and for a family leaving Kansas City it offers a distinctly affordable, unpretentious slice of Northern California with room to spread out and an easy pace.
Affordability is the headline draw: home prices across Yuba City and neighboring Marysville run well under Sacramento proper and a fraction of Bay Area costs, which is why the area draws commuters, first-time buyers and families wanting more square footage and yard. Beale Air Force Base just to the east anchors a steady population of military families and defense workers, and newer family subdivisions on the north and west sides of town keep expanding. Newcomers commonly look at areas like Plumas Lake, the Tierra Buena and Gray Avenue neighborhoods, Edgewater, and across the river in Marysville and Linda.
A Murdock’s delivery into Yuba City is usually a straightforward single-story unload with generous driveways and parking - the kind of suburban and semi-rural setting where our crews can stage the truck close to the door. Sacramento's airport and big-city amenities are under an hour south, so you get valley affordability without giving up regional reach.
