CORRIDOR NOTES

What This Route Changes.

Distances and drive times are planning estimates. Exact access, timing and delivery details are confirmed for each address before the move.

The run from Los Angeles to Yuba City is about 465 miles up the length of the Central Valley. Our crew loads at your LA-area home, climbs I-5 North over the Grapevine at Tejon Pass, and heads north through the San Joaquin Valley. Approaching the capital region the route shifts onto CA-99 North, crossing the Sacramento area and continuing up past the Feather River into the Yuba-Sutter area, with the Sutter Buttes marking the last stretch into town.

Because Murdock’s is an owner-operated carrier running under our own DOT and CPUC authority, the same truck and crew that pack your Southern California home carry it the whole way and unload it in Yuba City. Nothing gets handed off to another company's line-haul or parked in a warehouse for consolidation. At roughly eight hours of driving it's a long single day on the road, and most Los Angeles-to-Yuba City moves are done within two to four days depending on load size and access at both ends.

DESTINATION BRIEF

Arriving in Yuba City.

  • Some of the most affordable housing in the Sacramento Valley, well below Los Angeles and even Sacramento
  • Room to spread out with single-family ranch homes on larger lots and quiet suburban streets
  • A family-first community with strong, highly rated schools and low violent crime
  • Steady employment tied to agriculture, county government, and nearby Beale Air Force Base
  • Commutable access to Sacramento's larger job market without paying capital-city prices

Yuba City sits in the heart of Yuba-Sutter, the farm country at the center of the Sacramento Valley, and it's one of the more affordable places to land for families leaving Los Angeles. Home prices and rents run well below both LA and nearby Sacramento, and the payoff is space: single-story ranch homes on generous lots, quiet streets, and a genuinely suburban, family-first feel. It's an easy fit for people who want a house and a yard without a big-city price tag.

The neighborhoods here are built for families and make for clean, driveway-and-garage moves. Northwest Yuba City, South Yuba City, Tierra Buena, and the Elmer and Bogue areas are among the most popular, with well-kept homes, highly rated schools, and easy access to CA-20 and CA-99. Across the Feather River, historic Marysville and budget-friendly Olivehurst round out the area for buyers and renters hunting value close to work.

Yuba City's economy leans on agriculture, the county seat's public-sector jobs, and nearby Beale Air Force Base, which anchors a steady base of military families and civilian employment in the region. Sacramento's larger job market is a manageable commute to the south, so many newcomers get affordable Yuba-Sutter living while still reaching capital-area work, all under the valley's famously sunny skies.
