CORRIDOR NOTES
Distances and drive times are planning estimates. Exact access, timing and delivery details are confirmed for each address before the move.
Nashville to Chico is one of the longer runs Murdock’s makes, and we handle it as a single carrier move on our own USDOT and CPUC authority. Your household is loaded once in Middle Tennessee and stays with the same truck and the same crew the entire way, with no warehouse transfers and no broker reselling your shipment. We head west out of Nashville on I-40 through Memphis and across Arkansas, Oklahoma, the Texas Panhandle near Amarillo, and on through Albuquerque and Flagstaff.
After crossing into California we climb north out of the Sacramento region into the northern Sacramento Valley, reaching Chico after roughly 2,340 miles and 34 to 35 hours of driving. Because our own crew handles both the Nashville load and the Chico unload, the delivery window is realistic and your point of contact never changes. A haul of this length usually lands in a five to seven day transit, and we set the pickup and delivery dates so you can plan the far end with confidence.

DESTINATION BRIEF
Chico is a college town at the northern edge of the Sacramento Valley, built around California State University, Chico and one of the largest municipal parks in the country. Bidwell Park stretches for miles along Chico Creek with swimming holes, hiking, and biking right at the city's edge, and the walkable downtown grid of shops, breweries, and the Thursday-night farmers market gives the town a genuine community feel. It sits where the flat valley farmland meets the Sierra foothills, so foothill views and open space are never far.
People moving to Chico from Nashville tend to choose it for the same reasons locals love it: a lower cost of living than most of coastal California, a bike- and pedestrian-friendly layout, and strong community ties. Newcomers gravitate to The Avenues near downtown for tree-lined streets and older homes, California Park for its private lakes and foothill views, and the newer subdivisions on the north and east sides. The town continues to rebuild and grow in the years since the 2018 Camp Fire displaced many nearby residents, and housing demand near Bidwell Park stays consistently strong.
A Murdock’s delivery in Chico is handled by the same crew that loaded your home in Nashville, whether we are carrying boxes up to an older Avenues bungalow or into a new build off Bruce Road. With a yard right here in Chico, we know the streets, the campus-area parking, and the summer heat that shapes a good valley move day, and we place the large pieces and reassemble what we took apart before we leave.
