CORRIDOR NOTES
Distances and drive times are planning estimates. Exact access, timing and delivery details are confirmed for each address before the move.
Philadelphia to Yuba City is a full coast-to-coast move of roughly 2,850 miles, and Murdock’s Moving & Storage runs it as a single truck with a single crew on our own USDOT and CPUC authority. Your household leaves Philadelphia on the Pennsylvania Turnpike (I-76 West), crosses the Alleghenies past Harrisburg and Pittsburgh, and picks up I-80 West for the long haul through Cleveland, Chicago, Omaha, Cheyenne and Salt Lake City.
From Utah the route runs the Nevada desert through Reno, then climbs the Sierra Nevada over Donner Pass on I-80 and descends into the Sacramento Valley. The last leg heads north out of Sacramento on Highway 99 across the Feather River into Yuba City and the Yuba-Sutter area. Because the same Murdock’s crew loads in Philadelphia and unloads in Yuba City, there is no warehouse transfer and no broker hand-off anywhere along the way. Expect four to six days in transit depending on weather over the passes and mandatory driver rest.

DESTINATION BRIEF
Yuba City sits at the center of the Yuba-Sutter region, a stretch of Sacramento Valley farm country where the Feather River, orchards and the distinctive Sutter Buttes shape the landscape. For anyone coming from Philadelphia, the biggest shift is scale and price: this is affordable, family-oriented valley living with room to spread out, a strong agricultural economy, and none of the density or parking headaches of a big Northeast city. Twin-city neighbor Marysville across the river adds historic downtown character, and nearby Beale Air Force Base brings a steady military and civilian community into the area.
Transplants typically land in Yuba City's newer subdivisions on the west and south sides for single-family homes, yards and good schools, while those wanting more established neighborhoods look to central Yuba City or historic Marysville. Plumas Lake and Olivehurst to the south are growing commuter communities for people who work toward Sacramento, roughly 40 to 50 minutes down Highway 99. Everyday life here is quieter and more outdoor and family-centered: river access, the Buttes, county fairs and a real agricultural calendar, with big-city amenities and Sacramento International Airport an easy drive south.
Murdock’s runs a Yuba City yard, so our crews know the area's ground truth: new-construction master-plans with HOA and gate access, older lots in central Yuba City and Marysville, and the rural driveways and orchard-road addresses common across Sutter and Yuba counties. The same local company that quotes your move is the one that delivers it.
