CORRIDOR NOTES

What This Route Changes.

Distances and drive times are planning estimates. Exact access, timing and delivery details are confirmed for each address before the move.

Stockton to Yuba City is a straightforward run up the spine of the Sacramento Valley. We load in Stockton and head north on Highway 99, skirting Sacramento before continuing up toward Marysville and crossing the Feather River into Yuba City - roughly 65 miles and about an hour and a quarter with normal traffic. It is short enough that we almost always complete the move in a single day.

Every Stockton-to-Yuba-City move runs on Murdock’s own USDOT and CPUC carrier authority. We are an owner-operated carrier, not a broker, so the crew loading your home in Stockton is the same crew unloading it in Yuba City - one truck, one flat-rate price, no terminal transfers and no third-party driver you have never met. That single-crew accountability matters even on a short haul, because nothing gets rehandled between the two ends of the valley.

DESTINATION BRIEF

Arriving in Yuba City.

  • Notably lower housing costs than Stockton, Sacramento or the Bay Area - more home and land for the money
  • Small-town, family-oriented pace surrounded by orchards, rice fields and the Sutter Buttes
  • Steady employment anchors including Beale Air Force Base, agriculture and regional healthcare
  • Newer single-family subdivisions with driveways, garages and yards rather than dense apartments
  • Tight-knit community feel, including one of the nation's oldest and largest Sikh communities

Yuba City and its twin across the river, Marysville, sit at the heart of the Yuba-Sutter region - ag country framed by peach and walnut orchards, rice fields and the distinctive Sutter Buttes, often called the world's smallest mountain range. For someone leaving Stockton, the appeal is space and affordability: the Yuba-Sutter market runs well below Bay Area and even Sacramento prices, so families can buy more house and land for the money.

The pace here is small-town and family-oriented. Neighborhoods like Tierra Buena and the areas around Butte House Road offer newer subdivisions, while Live Oak, Sutter and Plumas Lake give a more rural, room-to-breathe feel. Beale Air Force Base just to the east anchors a steady community of military families, and the region draws a strong Punjabi-American community with one of the country's oldest Sikh temples. Because most homes here are single-family with driveways and garages, our trucks typically pull right up and unload without shuttle hassles.

At about 65 miles from Stockton, this is an easy relocation to plan - close enough to keep Central Valley family ties while trading Stockton's city footprint for orchard-country quiet and a lower cost of living.
