A Railroad Town You Can Walk End to End

Biggs grew up around the Union Pacific line and still carries that railroad-town layout: a tight grid of streets a few blocks wide, Main Street and B Street anchoring downtown, and homes close enough together that most Biggs moves are quick truck-to-door jobs rather than long carries. The housing stock is a mix of early-1900s farmhouses near the tracks and modest single-story homes filling out the rest of the city limits — there's essentially no multi-story apartment stock to plan around, which keeps most Biggs moves straightforward once the truck is parked.

Surrounded by Rice Ground and Wildlife Refuge

Step outside Biggs' city limits and it's immediately rice country — flooded fields ring the town for much of the growing season, and Gray Lodge Wildlife Area sits just west along the Butte Sink, drawing hunters and birders every fall. Highway 99 runs along the edge of town, giving our crews an easy, direct line in from Chico without threading through farm roads, even though the town itself feels a world away from city traffic once you're on Main Street.

A Feeder Town for Bigger Moves

Because Biggs is so small, a good share of the moves we run here aren't purely local — they're families leaving Biggs for Chico, Sacramento, or an out-of-state relocation for work, since the town itself has limited employment beyond agriculture and the neighboring Gridley area.
