Denver to Chico is a long western haul that Murdock’s Moving runs from doorstep to doorstep on our own CPUC and USDOT authority. Your shipment leaves the Front Range on I-25 north past Fort Collins, crosses into Wyoming at Cheyenne, and joins I-80 west for the high-desert miles through Laramie, Rawlins and Rock Springs before dropping into Nevada's Great Basin — Elko, Winnemucca and Reno. From Reno the truck climbs Donner Summit through the Sierra Nevada and descends into the Sacramento Valley, then turns north on I-5 and Highway 99 through Red Bluff country toward Chico.

People moving here usually settle in the leafy Avenues near campus, the established streets around Bidwell Park, or newer family neighborhoods on the east side toward the foothills and in nearby communities like Durham and the ridge town of Paradise, which has been rebuilding since the 2018 Camp Fire. Homes and lots run noticeably larger and cheaper than in Denver, and the pace is slower — a real draw for remote workers and families trading a big-metro commute for foothill living. Chico sits at the top of the Sacramento Valley where the flatland meets the Sierra foothills, so almond and walnut orchards give way quickly to hiking, mountain biking and Lake Oroville.
