CORRIDOR NOTES
Distances and drive times are planning estimates. Exact access, timing and delivery details are confirmed for each address before the move.
Henderson to Chico is a 600-mile haul that starts in the Mojave and ends in the northern Sacramento Valley at the foot of the Sierra foothills. Our crew leaves Henderson on I-215, joins I-15 north through Barstow, then crosses west over Tehachapi Pass on CA-58 to reach I-5. From the base of the Grapevine we run north up the valley, then split onto CA-99 near Sacramento for the final stretch through Yuba City and up into Chico.
Murdock’s is based in Chico, so this route ends at our home yard. We move it on our own USDOT and CPUC authority with a single truck and a single crew - the people who load you in Henderson are the ones who carry the truck up I-5 and CA-99 and set your household down in Chico. There's no broker in the middle and no terminal transfer, which for a haul this long usually means a two-to-four-day door-to-door window depending on load size and scheduling.

DESTINATION BRIEF
Chico is a university town at the north end of the Sacramento Valley, and it feels nothing like a Henderson subdivision. It's built around Chico State and the 3,600-acre Bidwell Park - one of the largest municipal parks in the country - with a compact, genuinely walkable downtown of brick storefronts, coffee shops, and tree-shaded streets. The Sierra foothills rise just to the east, giving quick access to swimming holes, hiking, and Lake Oroville.
For someone moving from Henderson, Chico offers small-city affordability and a slower pace. The Avenues near downtown and Chico State are classic older neighborhoods with narrow streets and mature trees that our crews navigate carefully; California Park, Canyon Oaks, and the newer subdivisions on the east and north sides give you standard driveway-and-garage access for a quick unload. Note that Chico absorbed thousands of residents after the 2018 Camp Fire in nearby Paradise, and the town has been rebuilding and growing on the ridge and in the surrounding foothills ever since.
Because Chico is our base, we know its streets, its move-in details, and its neighborhoods better than any out-of-state broker could. Whether you're landing in a downtown bungalow or a new build off Bruce Road, the same crew handles the whole job.
