CORRIDOR NOTES

What This Route Changes.

Distances and drive times are planning estimates. Exact access, timing and delivery details are confirmed for each address before the move.

Henderson to Yuba City covers 588 miles from the Mojave Desert up into the heart of the Sacramento Valley's ag country. Our crew pulls out of Henderson on I-215, runs I-15 north through Barstow, then crosses west on CA-58 over Tehachapi Pass to reach I-5 at the base of the Grapevine. From there it's a long run north up the San Joaquin and Sacramento Valleys before we take CA-99 north through the Sacramento area and into Yuba City in Sutter County.

Murdock’s operates a yard in Yuba City, so this route ends on home turf. We run it on our own USDOT and CPUC authority with one truck and one crew - the same team loads in Henderson, drives the haul up I-5 and CA-99, and unloads at your Yuba-Sutter address. No broker, no partner carrier, no terminal reload, which on a haul this long usually means a two-to-four-day door-to-door window depending on load and scheduling.

DESTINATION BRIEF

Arriving in Yuba City.

  • Trading Henderson's desert heat and higher housing prices for affordable single-family homes with real yards in the valley
  • Beale Air Force Base drives steady jobs and brings military families to the Yuba-Sutter area
  • Quiet, family-oriented ag-country pace an hour from Sacramento's capital-city amenities
  • More home and land for the money than the Las Vegas metro or coastal California
  • Returning to Northern California to be closer to family and roots

Yuba City anchors the Yuba-Sutter area, a stretch of Sacramento Valley farm country an hour north of the capital. It's the affordable, family-oriented alternative to both Sacramento and the Bay Area - flat, open, and surrounded by orchards, rice fields, and the Feather River rather than desert. The Sutter Buttes, billed as the world's smallest mountain range, rise right out of the valley floor just west of town.

For someone leaving Henderson, the draw is space and value: single-family homes with real yards at a fraction of Bay Area or coastal prices, and an easy commute to Beale Air Force Base, which drives a big share of the local economy and brings military families through town regularly. Neighborhoods like Tierra Buena, Gray Avenue, and the newer developments off Bogue Road and Barry Road give the kind of driveway-and-garage access that makes for a straightforward unload, while established parts of town near downtown and across the river in Marysville have older, tighter streets our crews plan around.

Because we keep a yard here, we know the Yuba-Sutter street grid, the base-area move-ins, and the local details firsthand. Whatever corner of the valley you're landing in, the same crew handles both ends of the move.
