From Seattle, the run to Yuba City follows Interstate 5 south the length of Washington and Oregon, past Tacoma, Portland and the Columbia River, then over the Siskiyou Summit at the California line. Once we drop into the upper Sacramento Valley near Redding, we swing off I-5 onto Highway 99 and follow the valley floor south through Chico and Live Oak into the Yuba-Sutter area. It's about 720 miles and 12 to 13 hours of driving, so this is a multi-day haul with the Siskiyou grade the one real mountain section to respect.

Across the Feather River sits Marysville, and together the twin cities anchor a region built around agriculture, the nearby Beale Air Force Base and a growing base of commuters who work toward Sacramento.
Seattle families relocating here tend to look at the newer subdivisions on the north and west sides of Yuba City, the established neighborhoods near Gray Avenue and downtown, or the quieter outlying communities of Sutter, Live Oak and Plumas Lake. Beale Air Force Base also brings a steady stream of military moves into the area.
